Former AC Milan and Chelsea goalkeeper Marco Amelia is on trial with Sunderland, according to reports in Italy.
The Black Cats are in need of a new goalkeeper to provide cover for 22-year-old Jordan Pickford and the injured Vito Mannone.
Amelia is currently a free agent after being released by Chelsea and, according to Sportitalia, he is now training with Sunderland.
David Moyes is keen to take a look at the 34-year-old in the hope he impresses him enough to secure a contract.
Amelia is reportedly keen on returning to England after his spell at Chelsea and a move to Sunderland would see him join the 10th side of his career.
