Six points separate eight teams - how race for Europe is shaping up

Nottingham Forest remained third with a goalless draw against Arsenal as the race for European football took another turn on Wednesday.

Manchester City went back above Chelsea into fourth with a 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur, after the Blues had temporarily gone above the champions with a comfortable victory over struggling Southampton on Tuesday.

Brighton went level on points with seventh-placed Bournemouth with a 2-1 win against the Cherries, while Fulham boosted their chances of a European place by beating Wolves at Molineux.

However, there was disappointment for Aston Villa after a 4-1 defeat by Crystal Palace.
