Simon Jordan says Chelsea risk becoming a 'LAUGHING STOCK' if they appoint Frank Lampard as caretaker boss and insists the Blues legend was an 'abject failure' at the club before he was sacked in 2021

Simon Jordan has claimed it would be a huge mistake for Chelsea to appoint Frank Lampard as caretaker boss and insisted they risk becoming a 'laughing stock' if they do so.

Lampard - who managed Chelsea for 18 months from 2019 to 2021 before being replaced by Thomas Tuchel - could be set for a shock return to the club, with the Blues seriously considering bringing him back on an interim basis until the end of the season, according to reports.

The former England international has been out of a job since he was sacked by Everton in January, having spent just under a year in the role.
