Roma have officially suspended director of sport Gianluca Petrachi following a row with the president James Pallotta.
The pair reportedly clashed over transfer targets with Petrachi unhappy with Pallotta's hesitation to make an offer to Chelsea forward Pedro, who will be available on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the month.
The Serie A club announced on Thursday that CEO Guido Fienga will temporarily take over transfer negotiations.
In a statement, the club said: 'AS Roma can confirm that it has today suspended Gianluca Petrachi of his duties as sporting director with immediate effect.
