Timo Werner's £53million release clause 'doesn't expire until next month' but that won't scupper the RB Leipzig striker's move to Chelsea this summer.
It was thought Werner's exit clause was due to end on June 15 but, according to German newspaper Bild, it is actually July 15.
This leaves Chelsea with more time to fend off rivals for the prolific Germany striker but Werner has given the Stamford Bridge club his word he will join.
But it won't scupper Chelsea's deal for Werner with an agreement already in place
Liverpool and Manchester City were also in the chase for a striker who has scored 31 goals across all competitions for Leipzig this season.
