Ray Wilkins accused Chelsea's players of switching off under the stewardship of Antonio Conte and suggested the club blood young players as a catalyst for a new era.
The former Chelsea captain and coach, who was speaking on Talksport after the Blues 4-1 humbling away to Watford, insisted the malaise cannot all be attributed to Conte.
Defeat at Watford was Chelsea's second in as many games having been turned over comprehensively in a 3-0 defeat at home to Bournemouth.
'The players are performing in exactly the same manner as when Jose Mourinho expired, they're just not performing,' Wilkins said.
