Aided by the presence of a capable defence ahead of him, Butland once again displayed his reliable presence in goal for Stoke. He made three saves and kept only his third clean sheet of the season as the Potters won the first match of Paul Lambert’s reign as manager.
It was another brilliant performance from Walker that further established his reputation as maybe the best full-back in the Premier League. He dominated both on the ground and in the air, and combined excellently with his teammates to aid Man City’s attack.
