Premier League 'relaxed' over John Terry substitution - report

This is a modal window.

Chelsea eased to their 30th win of the season thrashing Sunderland, a new Premier League record.

The Premier League is relaxed about John Terry's premeditated substitution during Chelsea's 5-1 win over Sunderland on Sunday, the Press Association reports.

Terry was taken off midway through the first half, with the substitution having been forecast on social media by the Chelsea fanzine editor before kickoff.

The 36-year-old revealed after the match that the idea to come off in the 26th minute had come from him, to tie in with his squad number of 26.
