Police END their investigation into the mid-World Cup break-in at Raheem Sterling's £6m home after no arrests - and having denied England star's spokesperson's claims that his family were at home during an armed raid

Police have concluded their investigation into allegations of a break-in that sent Raheem Sterling home from the World Cup, without making any arrests.

The England winger – who has been left out of Gareth Southgate's squad for the forthcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers - abruptly left Qatar mid-tournament, with a spokesperson for the player saying his fiancée and children had been at the family's Surrey mansion when it was raided by armed intruders.

But following concern from residents, Surrey Police later moved to clarify the situation. The force said that family of the Chelsea player were not present and had discovered watches and jewellery were missing after they had returned from Qatar, where they had been watching Sterling.
