Panama ends USMNT's dominance of Nations League

A second-half stoppage time goal from Cecilio Waterman earned Panama a late 1-0 win over the United States in the semifinals of the Concacaf Nations League on Thursday at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

With the game looking like it was headed to extra time, Waterman hit a low shot from just outside the penalty area that beat U.S. keeper Matt Turner and sent the Panamian bench into wild celebrations.

The Americans had lost two of their last three games against Panama coming into the match, including a 2-1 defeat in the group stage of the 2024 Copa América that saw the host U.
