Millie Bright scored a 25-yard screamer as Chelsea beat Manchester City 2-0 in the Women's Community Shield at Wembley.
The Blues missed several opportunities to get themselves in front earlier in the match with Australian international Sam Kerr unusually wasteful in front of goal.
But where the striker failed, centre-back Bright stepped up to hit a thunderous effort past Ellie Roebuck. Substitute Erin Cuthbert wrapped up the victory for Emma Hayes' side in the 90th minute with a smart finish inside the penalty area.
