Man City 'want a new full back because Pep Guardiola does not fully trust Sergio Gomez to start games' - despite being signed after failing to land Marc Cucurella... with Joao Cancelo continuing to fill in on the left

Manchester City are targeting a new full back during the January transfer window, with summer signing Sergio Gomez reportedly not fully trusted by boss Pep Guardiola.

Gomez joined City from Anderlecht for an initial £11million in the summer, with the club electing against loaning the Spaniard after failing to sign Marc Cucurella, who moved from Brighton to Chelsea.

The left back has yet be fully trusted to start matches, according to the Athletic, prompting the club to target increased depth.
