Kerry Dixon completed his tragic journey from Chelsea idol to prison when he was jailed for nine months for a 'shocking' assault in a Dunstable pub last summer.
The descent of Dixon from being a golden boy of English football in the 1980s is shocking and dramatic even by football standards, with the ex-forward suffering from numerous personal problems.
Dixon was always a keen gambler, and his life went off the rails when he retired from football in 2000 having had spells with several clubs including Southampton, Millwall and Luton Town.

Speaking candidly to The Sun on Wednesday about frittering away his wages, Dixon said: 'At one point in my Chelsea career, I was £135,000 down when I was earning £130,000 a year at my peak.
