Jurgen Klopp wants James Milner to stay at Liverpool and is working on a plan to keep the evergreen midfielder beyond his current deal.

Milner is pushing to start this afternoon's crucial Anfield clash with Chelsea, having been outstanding in Tuesday's 1-0 win at Wolves in the FA Cup. The 37-year-old is a free agent in the summer but Klopp does not want to lose his presence around the squad.

Though Milner knows he cannot go on playing forever, he wants to remain in football and has been working on his coaching badges at the club's Academy; three years ago, when Liverpool played an FA Cup replay at Anfield against Shrewsbury with a young team, he helped with their preparations.
