Antonio Conte wants Chelsea to appeal John Terry’s red card in their 4-1 FA Cup win over Peterborough United, believing it was ‘very clear’ his captain shouldn’t have been dismissed.
Terry, making his first start since the EFL Cup defeat to West Ham back in October, clumsily fouled Lee Angol as the Peterborough man raced towards goal and was shown a straight red by referee Kevin Friend.
Conte claimed that Terry wasn’t the last man because Branislav Ivanovic would have provided cover, but replays showed Ivanovic was some distance away from the challenge.

The Italian said: ‘I think it wasn’t the right decision by the referee.
