John Terry can handle the physical nature of the Championship, insists Aston Villa team-mate Henri Lansbury: 'He’s a man... he's not going to come here and lie down'

Henri Lansbury has backed John Terry to handle the physical rigours of Championship football as the 36-year-old begins his Aston Villa career.

Terry will be Villa captain for the coming campaign and Lansbury believes the club’s ambitions for a Premier League return are enhanced by his arrival.

Questions have been raised about Terry’s ability to the cope with playing Saturday-Tuesday matches at regular frequency but he has impressed so far in 129 minutes of pre-season action within four days.
