Sunderland defender Papy Djilobodji says he was never given a chance at Chelsea.
The 27-year-old joined the Blues from Nantes last summer for £2.7m, but he was loaned out to Werder Bremen for the season.
The centre-back was then sold to Sunderland this summer for £8m and, after making the move, the Senegal international says he was not given a fair crack of the whip at Stamford Bridge.
"Yes, it surprised many, but I always knew that I could do it," Djilobodji told So Foot about joining Chelsea.
"I have always said that I wanted to play for a great club, make a nice career out of it, and Chelsea are one [of the big clubs].
