Huddersfield Town secured Premier League survival with a game to spare and left Chelsea facing Europa League football after a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea must now win at Newcastle on Sunday and hope Liverpool lose at home to Brighton to qualify for the Champions League.
Little happened in the first half with both sides cancelling each other out. Antonio Rudiger had a good chance to open the scoring for Chelsea but fired wide from close range. Alvaro Morata then managed to round goalkeeper Jonas Lossl but took the ball to a tight angle and couldn't force it home.
