Frank Lampard is set to hold talks with Coventry in the coming days as the Championship club work through their shortlist to succeed Mark Robins.
The former Chelsea player and manager is among a handful of contenders for the post after owner Doug King and his advisors whittled down their initial roll call of about 70 applicants.
Though a strong contender, Lampard is not the only name under serious consideration with King favouring a head coach rather than a manager – with Robins fulfilling the latter role during his seven-and-a-half years in charge.
