Frank Lampard picks his combined XI between Chelsea's 2004-05 and 2016-17 title-winning sides - and leaves out Didier Drogba for Diego Costa up front

Frank Lampard has picked five of Antonio Conte's current squad in a combined XI made up of Chelsea's 2004-05 and 2016-17 title-winning sides – including plumping for Diego Costa over Didier Drogba.

Lampard, who helped drive Chelsea to their first Premier League triumph 12 years ago, went with a mixture of the two eras in his selection but slightly favoured the side he played in.

Eden Hazard, N'Golo Kante, Cesar Azpilicueta and - a feature of both squads – John Terry made his cut from the current drop as well as Costa.

The 21-goal Spaniard is perhaps the most-surprising inclusion at the expense of Chelsea legend and Lampard's old link-up partner Drogba.
