Frank Lampard and Jody Morris are set to part ways ahead of their anticipated returns to football.
Sportsmail understands the duo are open to accepting positions independent of each other, though neither are definitively closing the door on combining again under the right circumstances.
The pair have been close friends for almost 20 years, having played together at Chelsea during the early 2000s and continuing that relationship into their coaching careers.
Following his appointment as Derby head coach in 2018, Lampard handed Morris, who was an academy coach at Chelsea at the time, his first senior role appointing the 42-year-old as his assistant.
