Andriy Shevchenko has revealed his most inspiring manager across a glittering playing career - and it’s not Jose Mourinho or Carlo Ancelotti.
The Ukrainian played for a string of fine coaches during a career that saw him star for AC Milan and Chelsea, but the 2004 Ballon d’Or winner credits Soviet manager Valeriy Lobanovskyi as his idol.
Talking exclusively to Mail Sport, Shevchenko says: ‘The coach who inspired me the most is Valeriy Lobanovskyi who was the coach of Dynamo Kyiv.
‘He’s a legend for Ukraine and a legend in world football.
