Oscar's proposed move to Flamengo fell through as Shanghai SIPG decided against signing documents allowing the deal to go ahead with the Brazilian club, according to reports.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the player had already signed a contract on August 5 and Flamengo had not anticipated any pitfalls as they prepared an official announcement before the move fell through.
The former Chelsea attacking midfielder revealed on Twitter that he was keen to get the move over the line, but that it was not possible at that time - despite posing for a photo in the Brazilian side's colours.
