Chelsea legend Didier Drogba hailed the current team for completing the job his generation had left unfinished in 2012 by securing the World Club Cup in Abu Dhabi last night.
And Drogba also acknowledged that this last week may prove a turning point his centre-forward successor Romelu Lukaku, who has thus far endured a disjointed and miserable return to the club.
A goal in the semi final against Al Hilal and the opener against Palmeiras in the final came after his pre Christmas interview expressing his discontent with the club, a scenario with which Drogba, never shy of giving interviews speculating about his future, is familiar.
