Dario Gradi under pressure to explain what he knew about sexual abuse

A decorated football coach is under growing pressure to explain what he knew about sexual abuse at two clubs where he worked.

Dario Gradi was an assistant coach at Chelsea in the 1970s, when scout Eddie Heath allegedly molested boys at the training ground and at his home.

On one occasion, Mr Gradi allegedly went to the home of a boy who claimed he was attacked by Heath and persuaded his parents to drop any formal complaint.

In the 1980s Mr Gradi, 75, became manager of Crewe Alexandra, whose scout Barry Bennell was last week charged with child sex offences dating from the 1980s.
