Shearer to this day remains the league's all-time highest goalscorer with 260 goals during his time with Blackburn and Newcastle.
Meanwhile, Henry is regarded the greatest player ever to play in the top flight after some memorable years with Arsenal.
But Tyldesley doesn't believe either are the best strikers the league has seen - insisting it's Chelsea legend Didier Drogba who takes the title.
Speaking on on 'The Byline', he said: 'I would almost say that if they were having trouble defensively because I can call Alan Shearer a good friend and who's been the best striker in the Premier League era, it would be one of those two and don't tell him I said this but I think Drogba may be,'

Tyldesley claims Didier Drogba is the best due to his football talent, personality and leadership
'I thought Drogba was just the most outstanding football talent, personality, iconic leader for a football team and you haven't got anybody remotely in that league.
