Newcastle United expect to tie up the signing of Kenedy from Chelsea this week — but will have to wait until the end of the month to see whether the Blues will allow Michy Batshuayi to go out on loan.
Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo needs to find cover before allowing players to leave, though he seems prepared to do a deal on the Brazilian left-back, who was sent home from the club's Far East tour for making insulting comments about China.
Batshuayi's wages would be far too much for Newcastle so he could only be a prospect if Chelsea sign cover — Fernando Llorente is a target — and if the champions pay part of his salary.
