Three goals in 11 second-half minutes gave Chelsea their first win in the revamped Premier League 2 and a just reward for a dominant performance against Liverpool.
Josimar Quintero, Mason Mount and Dujon Sterling struck in quick succession, with Mount also missing a penalty in the same spell, to edge out the visitors at Aldershot.
Liverpool looked in with a chance of a point when Harry Wilson smashed in a brilliant equaliser to equalise after Quintero’s opener, but in truth they were comfortably second-best and the result was given the gloss it perhaps deserved with Ike Ugbo adding Chelsea’s late fourth.
