Chelsea 'trigger £20m release clause of Leeds star Tyler Adams' with Mauricio Pochettino looking to strengthen his side's midfield after they submitted a bid for Romeo Lavia

Chelsea have reportedly activated the £20m release clause of Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams.

The Blues are keen to add more midfield reinforcements ahead of the new season and are looking to complete a deal for Adams after his release clause kicked in after Leeds were relegated to the Championship.

Sky Sports have reported that Chelsea have triggered the clause and that the United States international will have a medical with the club in the next 24 hours.

It comes after the Blues also outbid Liverpool for Romeo Lavia, as they submitted a £47m offer in an effort to sign him from Southampton.
