Chelsea trigger £20m bid release clause of Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams with Mauricio Pochettino looking to strengthen his midfield after also making an offer for Romeo Lavia

Chelsea have reportedly activated the £20m release clause of Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams.

The Blues are keen to add more midfield reinforcements ahead of the new season and are looking to complete a deal for Adams after his release clause kicked in after Leeds were relegated to the Championship.

They have held discussions over a deal for Adams are confident he will make the move, pending that he passes a medical.

It comes after the Blues also outbid Liverpool for Romeo Lavia, as they submitted a £48m offer in an effort to sign him from Southampton.
