Chelsea will pull Reece James out of the England squad, leaving Luke Shaw as the only specialist full-back in Gareth Southgate’s party.
James’ manager Thomas Tuchel revealed the news after the right-back missed his team’s 2-0 win against Middlesbrough in Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final at the Riverside.
And with Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold having also pulled out of Southgate’s initial 25-man squad, there is also no right-back in the group.
