Chelsea target Craig Gordon has Celtic contract talks put on hold until end of the season

Craig Gordon's contract talks with Celtic have been shelved until the summer after negotiations between the player’s representative and the club reached an impasse.

The subject of two bids from Chelsea last month, the second of which was believed to be £3.5million, the 34-year-old was expected to sign an improved deal after the Scottish champions kicked those offers into touch.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers believed only minor details in an improved contract had still to be thrashed out but it appears that hasn’t yet happened, with the matter now being put on the back-burner until the end of the season.
