Chelsea youngster Carney Chukwuemeka is set for a spell on the sidelines after he underwent knee surgery on Monday night.
The Blues confirmed the news today after the 19-year-old went off injured during their 3-1 defeat to West Ham on Sunday.
It was a mixed day for the youngster who scored his first goal for the Blues to level the score after 28 minutes.
But he was seen hobbling off the pitch as the first-half came to a close and was replaced for the start of the second period.
Chukwuemeka underwent surgery after suffering a knee injury and is set to be out of action for around six weeks.
