Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour is in talks over a potential loan to Southampton after being left out of Thomas Tuchel's squad altogether on Sunday.
The 19-year-old has already told Chelsea he wants to move on loan to push his claims for a place in Scotland's European Championship squad.
Sportsmail reported on Wednesday that the 19-year-old is keen to leave on a temporary basis in order to increase his playing time.
New Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has not named Gilmour in his two matchday squads so far
Gilmour is yet to be capped at senior level by his national team, though a run of Premier League fixtures would boost his chances of appearing in Scotland's first major tournament in 23 years.
