Chelsea star 'urged by England team-mate to leave Stamford Bridge and join Atletico Madrid this summer'

Former Atletico Madrid full-back Kieran Trippier has reportedly been attempting to convince Conor Gallagher to join his old cub this summer.

Gallagher captained Chelsea for the majority of last season in the absence of the injured Reece James.

The midfielder made 50 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals and setting up another nine.

He has just one year left on his contract and has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs such as London rivals Tottenham.

Atletico Madrid are also contemplating a move and AS report that they may be aided in their pursuit by Trippier.
