Chelsea ready to ditch Romelu Lukaku pursuit and turn to Alvaro Morata and Andrea Belotti

Chelsea are ready to pursue Alvaro Morata and Andrea Belotti and ditch their plans to sign Romelu Lukaku, according to reports in Italy.

The Premier League champions had been considered favourites to recruit Lukaku from Everton before Manchester United intervened with a reported £75million offer for the Belgian striker.

Senior sources at Goodison Park have told talkSPORT that reports of a bid being accepted were ‘premature’ and that ‘no deal has been reached.’

But there is a growing confidence Lukaku will sign for Jose Mourinho’s Red Devils within the coming days, forcing the Blues to pursue alternative targets such as Morata and Belotti.
