Chelsea’s owners have acknowledged their role in the ‘disappointing’ season for their men’s team but vowed to build a squad capable of competing to win the for the biggest trophies.
The first year of the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Capital regime ended with Chelsea finishing 12th with their lowest ever Premier League points tally.
They spent around £600million in the two transfer windows with the upheaval at the club further underlined by four different managers leading the team throughout the campaign.
A fifth manager of their reign has now been appointed with new head coach Mauricio Pochettino officially starting work on July 1.
