Gus Poyet is set to tempt John Terry with a lucrative payday to end his career with his Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Shenhua.
Former Chelsea midfielder Poyet was confirmed as the team's new manager on Tuesday, and is keen to make Terry his first signing.
The 35-year-old centre half had to wait until the end of last season before being offered a one-year extension at Stamford Bridge.

There has been no indication from manager Antonio Conte that a new contract is forthcoming for Terry, who has played for Chelsea's first-team since 1998.
