Chelsea could be about to capitalise on a breakdown in talks regarding a new deal for Roma defender Kostas Manolas.
The Greece international is under contract until 2019 but discussions are ongoing about an extension at the Stadio Olimpico.
Reports in Italy have suggested that Manolas wants a deal worth around £2.6m per year while Roma are not willing to pay him more than £2.1m.
That has lead to a stalemate in negotiations and the Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed that Chelsea are keeping close tabs on the situation.
Blues boss Antonio Conte is still in the market for central defensive reinforcements and Manolas could fit the bill.
