Chelsea have lost their appeal against captain John Terry’s red card in Sunday's 4-1 FA Cup win over Peterborough.
The 36-year-old was sent off for a challenge on Lee Angol in the 66th minute of the third round clash.
Antonio Conte was criticial of the decision to dismiss Terry, but the FA have now ruled referee Kevin Friend made the right call.
Terry, who was making his first start for the Blues since October, will therefore serve an immediate one-match touchline ban.
That rules the centre-back out of Saturday's Premier League trip to champions Leicester City.
