Chelsea confirm £10m departure of midfielder Cesc Fabregas to Monaco

Cesc Fabregas' Chelsea departure was finally confirmed on Friday night as the midfielder was reunited with his former Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry at Monaco.

The 31-year-old had been made to wait for confirmation of his exit, despite his emotional Stamford Bridge farewell following their FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Chelsea had wanted to find a replacement before signing off on the £10million move but they confirmed in a statement: 'Cesc Fabregas has completed a permanent transfer to Monaco.
