Chelsea condemn 'inappropriate and hateful' songs heard from their fans at Stamford Bridge during Liverpool clash as the Premier League vow to tackle 'tragedy chanting'

Chelsea have condemned the 'inappropriate chants' referencing the Hillsborough disaster that were heard during their 0-0 draw with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

The 'hateful' songs came on another miserable night for Chelsea, who parted company with head coach Graham Potter on Sunday, with Bruno Saltor failing to get his interim spell off to a winning start in a drab stalemate.

Chants mocking the 1989 tragedy at Hillsborough were audible throughout the game, and shortly after the final whistle the Blues released a statement castigating the sections of the ground from which they were heard.
