Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca blasts 'embarrassing decisions' during winless run ahead of visit of Wolves

Enzo Maresca says ‘somebody has to be embarrassed’ after the refereeing decisions which have gone against Chelsea amid their five-game winless run in the Premier League.

In an apparent swipe at referees’ body the PGMOL, Maresca insisted his team deserve zero criticism. He even claimed the club had been informed by the refereeing body that they should have been awarded a penalty, believed to be a reference to their 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace when Tyrick Mitchell slid in on Pedro Neto without punishment.

Another controversial incident came when Bournemouth’s David Brooks was shown a yellow card for bringing down Marc Cucurella in the 2-2 draw last Tuesday, marking the first time in Premier League history that a referee had rejected a red-card review at his pitchside monitor.
