The world of Chelsea Football Club caved in this week after the government's sanctioned their Russian owner Roman Abramovich over his links to Vladimir Putin in the wake of the invasion of Ukraine.
The Stamford Bridge club, who are the reigning European and world champions, suddenly find themselves in an existential fight to survive with Abramovich's sale of the club paused, ticket and merchandise sales frozen, and sponsors withdrawing millions in revenue.
The 19 years of Abramovich's ownership have witnessed almost constant success, including five Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three League Cups and the Champions League twice as Chelsea became a global powerhouse on and off the pitch.
