Chelsea 'attempted to sign Marquinhos in the summer' and were ready to offer PSG £85m in bid to reunite Brazilian with Thiago Silva... but both player and club snubbed deal

Chelsea attempted to bring Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos to Stamford Bridge this summer and were reportedly willing to offer up to £85 million.

The Brazilian centre back worked under Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel during the manager's time in Paris and he was keen to bring the player to the Premier League.

The West London club were reportedly looking to bring in a defender as they were also strongly linked with Sevilla's Jules Kounde.

However, according to RMC Sport, Tuchel wanted to reunite the Marquinhos and Thiago Silva defensive partnership.
