The tunnel bust-up at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night was sparked by an obscene comment made by Chelsea fitness coach Paolo Bertelli towards Manchester City masseur Mark Sertori, it has emerged.
Pep Guardiola was caught up in the row which erupted after Chelsea beat City 2-1 to end their Premier League title challenge.
Bertelli and Sertori had been trading insults from their positions in the dugout during the game, and it escalated as they headed down the tunnel at full-time.
Bertelli is believed to have told the City man ‘we f****d you up the a***’ as tempers boiled over.
