Chelsea are facing a hefty fine while Cesc Fabregas could yet be handed a three-match suspension after the mass brawl that marred the final minutes of Saturday's 3-1 win over Manchester City, a source has told ESPN FC.
Players and coaches from both clubs became embroiled in the scuffles that followed Sergio Aguero's high and late tackle on David Luiz at the Etihad Stadium, with the Argentine shown a straight red card by referee Anthony Taylor and Fernandinho also dismissed for grabbing Fabregas around the neck.
Both clubs expect to be charged with breaching Football Association Rule E20, which relates to a failure to control players and/or officials.
