Chelsea ace Marcos Alonso faces prospect of missing FA Cup semi-final after being charged with violent conduct for stamp on Shane Long

Marcos Alonso is set to miss Chelsea's FA Cup semi-final against Southampton after being charged with violent conduct.

Alonso will be banned for three games for a high tackle made on Shane Long which was not seen by the officials during a draw against the Saints on Saturday.

He has until 6pm on Wednesday to respond to the charge.

Alonso will miss games against Burnley and Swansea as well as Sunday's semi-final at Wembley if he admits the charge.
