Palmer scored four goals in 20 minutes, hit the post and had an effort ruled out for offside. The fact he was fuming with himself for missing a straightforward chance to join the elite group of players to score five in a Premier League game in the second period speaks volumes.
Palmer is the second Chelsea player to score four goals in two different Premier League games, after Frank Lampard in 2008 (against Derby) and 2010 (against Aston Villa.
