Chelsea progressed to the Champions League semi-finals in dramatic fashion on Thursday night, winning 4-3 on penalties against last year's winners Lyon.
The French side, who came into the clash at Stamford Bridge 1-0 down on aggregate, broke the deadlock in the 77th minute through centre-back Vanessa Gilles, whose brilliant finish from a tight angle forced extra time.
German midfielder Sara Dabritz thought she had won the quarter-final for Lyon with a strike in the 110th minute, but Maren Mjelde kept her cool from the spot with Chelsea's last kick of the match to force a penalty shootout deep into extra time.
